Sidewalk and Driveway

a gray house with concrete driveway
If you’re looking at installing a new driveway or a new sidewalk for your property, then you’d be wise to consider a concrete installation. Concrete is the ideal material for these structures, as it has an incredibly rounded physical performance alongside a smart aesthetic – and it comes at a very reasonable price point as well. Grand Prairie Concrete is the premier concrete company in the area, and we will stand behind the quality of the driveways and sidewalks that we create up against any of the work produced by the other concrete contractors across Grand Prairie, Texas – and beyond. For more information on this aspect of our concrete work, read on below or reach out to our customer service team.

Classic Durability
The primary purpose of both a sidewalk and a driveway is to enable travel, to give access to certain areas, and it makes sense to use a material that will allow that to happen consistently, without problems, over its entire lifespan. Concrete is the obvious choice in this regard, because its durability is unmatched. Concrete easily puts up with foot and vehicle traffic, and even heavy drops aren’t a major concern. It’s also excellent at handling high temperatures (and changes in temperature), precipitation, and even oil spills. This is the best-in-class option in terms of endurance and toughness, of that there is absolutely no doubt.

Life Cycle Benefits
One of the other reasons that you might want to consider a concrete driveway or sidewalk is that they’re incredibly affordable – particularly over their lifespan. Concrete provisions are expected to last for 30 years or more without any real deterioration, and possibly longer if you decide to employ sealcoating every so often. That means that, generally speaking, you won’t have to replace these surfaces for close to half a lifetime! When you then realize that the upfront installation cost is very affordable – especially compared with some other driveway and sidewalk materials – then you also realize that the life cycle cost must be ridiculously low!

Decorative Options
You might be thinking that concrete could be a little plain for your purposes, and that’s fair for some people. While we have a number of customers who prefer the more simple aesthetic brought by regular concrete – a material that can easily dovetail with a near-endless number of materials, patterns, and colors – others certainly prefer something more decorative. You can get some added visual flair for your sidewalk or driveway by going with a stamped concrete provision. This gives you all of the practical qualities of concrete, but with the option of patterns, embossments, and even material imitations.

Property Gains
Another strong reason to consider the installation of a concrete driveway is the effect that it’s going to have on the rest of property. It will make an immediate positive first impression, which can be a big deal – particularly if you’re looking to move the property on at some point – and it’s also likely to raise the valuation of the building. A new, durable driveway that’s going to last for 30 years or more is one less thing for a prospective buyer to worry about, after all. Therefore, in a sense, you might actually be gaining money by deciding to invest in such a service.
